On certain motorcycles, if the vehicle is operated or stored in a wet environment, moisture could enter the trunk wiring harness connection. If moisture were to enter the wiring harness, it could cause an electrical short, which could result in the constant illumination of the brake light, even when the brakes are not applied. This would result in the following road users being unaware of the driver's intentions and could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will remove the affected wiring harness and replace it with an updated wiring harness that contains plugs in the connectors.
The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2018047.
