Issue: rnOn certain motorcycles, the rear tail/running lights are too bright. This might make it difficult for a following driver to tell when the brake lights turn on. Canadian regulations specify a maximum brightness for tail and running lights. rn rnSafety Risk: rnIf a following driver does not recognize that a vehicle ahead is slowing, there could be an increased risk of a crash.rn rnCorrective Actions: rnThe company will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their vehicle to a dealer to update the engine control module to reduce the rear tail/running light brightness.
The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2019445.
