On certain vehicles, when the hood is closed, the fender splash panel may rub on the inlet fuel line fitting of the fuel/water separator. This could result in abrasion damage to the fuel line fitting causing a fuel leak. A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source could result in a fire causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will trim the splash panel to allow proper clearance and replace the fuel/water separator inlet fitting if abrasion damage is found.
