Issue: rnOn certain digger derricks, the welds for the pedestal tube could crack. If the cracks progress, they could result in a failure of the pedestal and uncontrolled movement. rn rnSafety Risk: rnIf the pedestal were to fail, the risk of injury and/or property damage would be increased. rn rnCorrective Actions: rnThe company will notify owners by mail. Owners will be reminded to perform a daily inspection of the pedestal, as in the owneru2019s manual. They will also be provided with a reinforcement kit and directions for how to inspect the pedestal for cracks. If cracks are present, the unit must be taken out of service and repaired.
The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2019122.
