Issue: rnOn certain vehicles, the teeth on the timing belt may separate due to a manufacturing issue. This could result in an engine stall. rn rnSafety Risk: rnAn engine stall could increase the risk of a crash. rn rnCorrective Actions: rnThe company will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their vehicle to a dealer to inspect the lot number on the timing belt. If it is within the affected range, the belt will be replaced. Additionally, dealers will inspect the engine for internal damage.

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2019179.
