Issue: rnOn certain vehicles, the seat belts for the driver, front passenger, second and/or third row seats may be incorrect. Canadian regulations require automatic-locking retractors (ALR) are to be installed on forward facing front passenger, second and/or third row seats.rn rnSafety Risk: rnA non-ALR seat belt would not tightly secure a child seat. This could increase the risk of injury in a crash.rn rnCorrective Actions: rnKia will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their vehicle to a dealer to inspect the seat belt assemblies. If the seat belts are incorrect, they will be replaced with correct ones.

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2019416.
