Issue: rnOn certain vehicles, the middle-rear seat belt may not be properly attached to the vehicle body. As a result the seat belt could detach immediately when used, making the middle seating position unavailable. In the unlikely chance that a person did not notice the seat belt was loose, it may come loose while driving or in a crash. rn rnSafety Risk: rnA seat belt that is not properly attached could create an increased risk of injury in a crash. rn rnCorrective Actions: rnMercedes-Benz will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their vehicle to a dealer to inspect the middle-rear seat belt. If the seat belt is not properly attached, it will be reinstalled correctly.

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2019400.
