Issue: rnOn certain cars, the Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC) could malfunction. This could cause the airbags and/or seat belt pretensioners to deploy without a crash. rnrnSafety Risk: rnAirbags or seat belt pretensioners that deploy without a crash could create a risk of injury and also increase the risk of a crash. rnrnCorrective Actions: rnFCA Canada will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their cars to a dealer to replace the Occupant Restraint Controller with an updated module.

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2019629.
