Issue: rnOn certain trucks, the nut that attaches the positive battery cable to the alternator could loosen. This could affect the electrical connection, resulting in an engine stall and/or arcing. rn rnSafety Risk: rnA sudden loss of engine power could increase the risk of a crash. Electrical arcing could damage surrounding material and increase the risk of a fire.rnrnCorrective Actions: rnGeneral Motors will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your truck to a dealer to inspect the connection between the positive battery cable and the alternator. If necessary, it will be cleaned and reattached. If the nut, cable or terminal are damaged, the dealer will replace the damaged parts.
