Issue: rnOn certain vehicles equipped with a 3.6 L engine, the transmission gear shift cable may have been damaged during vehicle assembly. As a result, the shift cable could disconnect from the transmission. If this happens, the transmission will not shift gears when the shift lever is moved. If a driver attempts to exit the vehicle while the transmission is not in the Park position, and the parking brake is not applied, the vehicle could move suddenly.rn rnSafety Risk: rnSudden and unexpected movement of the vehicle could increase the risk of a crash.rn rnCorrective Actions: rnFCA Canada will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to replace the transmission shift cable.

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2020022.
