Issue: rnOn certain vehicles equipped with front swivel-seats, the wiring harness under the seat may not be properly secured. As a result, the airbag wires could be damaged when the seat is moved. If this happens, the side airbag may not work properly in a crash. This problem could also cause the side airbag to deploy suddenly without a crash. rnNote: If the wiring to the side airbag is damaged, the SRS light will stay on in the instrument cluster. rnrnSafety Risk: rnAn airbag that does not work properly could increase the risk of injury in a crash. rnrnCorrective Actions: rnMercedes-Benz will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to inspect the routing of the seat wiring harness. The dealer will add clips or cable ties to properly secure the wiring harness to the seat, if necessary.
