Issue: rnOn certain vehicles with the trailer tow option, a programming error in the body control module (BCM) could cause the trailer brake lamps and turn signals not to work. rnrnSafety Risk: rnTrailer lights that don't work could cause following drivers not to recognize that the vehicle ahead is braking or intends to turn. This could increase the risk of a crash. rnrnCorrective Actions: rnFCA Canada will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealership to reconfigure the body control module to include the trailer tow option.
The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2022409.
