Issue:rnOn certain fire trucks, the retaining clips (keepers) may not have been installed correctly on the steer axle nuts. As a result, an axle nut could loosen and a wheel end could separate from the truck.rnrnSafety Risk:rnA wheel separation could cause a loss of control and increase the risk of a crash. A wheel that separates could also hit another person or vehicle. rnrnCorrective Actions:rnSpartan Fire will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your truck to an authorized service facility to inspect the steer axle nut retaining clips, and replace them if necessary.
