Issue: rnOn certain electric school buses, the power steering pressure line may not be properly connected to the brake booster. As a result, power steering fluid could leak and cause a loss of power steering and power brake assist. rnNote: Vehicles that were inspected under Transport Canada recall no. 2022-618 also require this repair. rnrnSafety Risk: rnA loss of power brakes can cause a sudden increase in brake pedal force and lead to an increase in stopping distance. A loss of power steering assist can cause a sudden increase in steering effort. Both could increase the risk of a crash. rnrnCorrective Actions: rnMicro Bird will notify owners by mail and advise you to bring your bus to a dealership to replace the power steering pressure line and brake booster line.

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2024245.
