大型トラック用エンジンにおいて、オイルサーモバルブの開弁温度設定が不適切なため、ピストンの温度が高くなり、ピストンに過大な負荷がかかり、亀裂が生じるものがある。そのため、そのまま使用を続けると亀裂が進行し、ピストンに穴が開き、エンジン出力の低下及び白煙を排出し、最悪の場合、走行不能に至るおそれがある。What is to be done about it
①全車両、車両走行データを確認し、負荷及びその頻度の高い車両はピストンを点検し、亀裂のあるものはエンジンを良品に交換する。また、ブローバイガス流量を点検し、流量が多いものはエンジンを良品に交換する。 ②平成１７年排出ガス規制対応車両については、サーモスタット、オイルサーモバルブを対策品に交換する。The two passages above are quoted in Japanese because that is the language the ministry published them in.
