What the ministry says is wrong

ホイール・クレーンの緩衝装置において、トルクロッド取付サポートの強度が不足しているため、急制動をかけると、当該サポートの取付部に疲労限度を超える応力がかかることがある。そのため、トルクロッド取付サポートの取付部に亀裂が入り、そのままの状態で使用を続けると、トルクロッド取付サポートの取付部が破損して、トルクロッドが外れるおそれがある。

What is to be done about it

全車両点検し、トルクロッド取付サポートの取付部に亀裂がないものは、トルクロッド取付サポートに補強板を取付ける。亀裂があるものは、亀裂部を補修し、補強板を取付ける。

The two passages above are quoted in Japanese because that is the language the ministry published them in. This site keeps the wording a register had when it was read, and does not translate a safety notice.

This site gathered the record, grouped it by notification number and set it in English around the ministry's own words; the notice itself is unaltered. タダノ elsewhere in this register

タダノ is named on 63 notices in the copy of MLIT’s register held here, of which these are the nearest to this one in time.

The same part: 緩衝アーム/ロッド

176 notices in this register name 緩衝アーム/ロッド. A defect that keeps returning under one heading is worth reading as a group rather than one notice at a time.

Reading this against the source

This page is what MLIT published in the recall notices it publishes, kept as it was read. The authority publishes only its current wording; if a notice is rewritten, the earlier version disappears there and is kept here. The whole register is at /japan, and how the reading is done is set out in the method.

This register keeps an index of its own for every maker and every year it holds: Japanese recalls on a Tadano: 63 in the register, and 419 Japanese vehicle recall notifications filed in 2016.
