What the ministry says is wrong

エンジン等を制御しているコンピューターの電気配線の固定方法が不適切なため、当該配線がラジエータマウント部、ラジエータファンシュラウド部と干渉するものがある。そのため、そのまま使用を続けると、走行時の振動等により、電気配線の被服が損傷・短絡してヒューズが溶断し、最悪の場合、原動機が停止し再始動不能となるおそれがある。

What is to be done about it

全車両、クランプ及びブラケットを追加し、配線を固定しなおす。また、配線が損傷している場合は新品と交換する。

The two passages above are quoted in Japanese because that is the language the ministry published them in. This site keeps the wording a register had when it was read, and does not translate a safety notice.

Source: Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism website (出典:国土交通省ウェブサイト), used under the Public Data License 1.0. This site gathered the record, grouped it by notification number and set it in English around the ministry's own words; the notice itself is unaltered. CarsMultiverse is not the ministry and not a safety authority. To act on this notice, use the ministry's own document.

ボルボ elsewhere in this register

ボルボ is named on 203 notices in the copy of MLIT’s register held here, of which these are the nearest to this one in time.

The same part: 配線

454 notices in this register name 配線. A defect that keeps returning under one heading is worth reading as a group rather than one notice at a time.

Reading this against the source

This page is what MLIT published in the recall notices it publishes, kept as it was read. The authority publishes only its current wording; if a notice is rewritten, the earlier version disappears there and is kept here. The whole register is at /japan, and how the reading is done is set out in the method.

This register keeps an index of its own for every maker and every year it holds: Japanese recalls on a Volvo: 207 in the register, and 335 Japanese vehicle recall notifications filed in 2008.
