What the ministry says is wrong

フロントフェンダー固定用ボルトにおいて、当該ボルトのねじ部の表面処理が不適切なため、定期点検整備等で取り外し再度使用すると走行振動等により緩んでくる場合がある。そのため、そのままの状態で使用を続けると、当該ボルトの上端が前輪タイヤのサイドウォールに接触し、前輪タイヤを損傷させ空気漏れを起こし、最悪の場合、バランスを失い転倒するおそれがある。

What is to be done about it

全車両、フロントフェンダー固定用ボルトを対策品に交換する。

The two passages above are quoted in Japanese because that is the language the ministry published them in. This site keeps the wording a register had when it was read, and does not translate a safety notice.

This site gathered the record, grouped it by notification number and set it in English around the ministry's own words; the notice itself is unaltered. CarsMultiverse is not the ministry and not a safety authority. To act on this notice, use the ministry's own document.

トライアンフ elsewhere in this register

トライアンフ is named on 68 notices in the copy of MLIT’s register held here, of which these are the nearest to this one in time.

The same part: タイヤ

35 notices in this register name タイヤ. A defect that keeps returning under one heading is worth reading as a group rather than one notice at a time.

Reading this against the source

This page is what MLIT published in the recall notices it publishes, kept as it was read. The authority publishes only its current wording; if a notice is rewritten, the earlier version disappears there and is kept here. The whole register is at /japan, and how the reading is done is set out in the method.

This register keeps an index of its own for every maker and every year it holds: Japanese recalls on a Triumph: 68 in the register, and 303 Japanese vehicle recall notifications filed in 2011.
