変速機のシフトレバーにおいて、シフトポジションを選択後に当該レバーは中央位置に戻る構造のため、車両が停止する前にＰレンジにシフトしようとしてもできないが、運転者はＰレンジにシフトしたものと誤認することがある。そのため、駐車ブレーキをかけずに車外に出ると車両が動き出すおそれがある。What is to be done about it
全車両、車両のコントロールユニットのソフトウェアの書換えを行い、特定の条件下で、自動的にギアがＰレンジにシフトするようにする。また、ドアの開放をより確実に検知するため運転席ドアラッチを対策品と交換する。本機能に関わる取扱説明書の追補を発行し、ユーザーに配布する。The two passages above are quoted in Japanese because that is the language the ministry published them in.
