VEHICLES MAY CONTAIN THE POTENTIAL FOR A SHORT CIRCUIT BETWEEN THE FUEL INJECTOR RETURN AND BATTERY ELECTRICAL CIRCUITS CAUSED BY THE PROXIMITY OF THE WELDS IN THE WIRING ASSEMBLY ENGINE CONTROL SENSOR. SHOULD A SHORT CIRCUIT OCCUR, THE ELECTRIC FUEL PUMP MAY ENERGIZE AND SOME FUEL INJECTORS MAY OPEN. THIS COULD RESULT IN FUEL DISCHARGING INTO THE ENGINE EVENTUALLY LEAKING FROM THE EXHAUST SYSTEM TO THE GROUND AND CREATING THE POTENTIAL FOR A VEHICLE FIRE.
Transport Canada recorded this notice in capitals, as its system did for many years. It is reproduced here exactly as published.
The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 1985106.
