THESE VEHICLES MAY HAVE DEFECTIVE THROTTLE RETURN SPRINGS. THE TOOL USED TO FORM THE ENDS ON THE SPRING MAY HAVE LEFT A MARK IN THE SPRING CREATING A STRESS CONDITION WHICH MAY CAUSE THE END OF THE SPRING TO FATIGUE RAPIDLY. SHOULD BOTH THROTTLE RETURN SPRINGS FAIL, IT COULD RESULT IN LOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL AND A CRASH WITHOUT PRIOR WARNING. rnCORRECTION: THROTTLE RETURN SPRINGS WILL BE REPLACED ON AFFECTED VEHICLES.

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 1989058.
