ON TRUCKS WITH VOLVO TD123 ENGINES, THE FUEL INJECTION PUMP MAY FAIL UNDER NORMAL OPERATING CONDITIONS WITHOUT PRIOR WARNING CAUSING THE ENGINE TO OVERSPEED, TO FAIL TO RETURN TO IDLE AND POSSIBLY NOT SHUT OFF WITH THE KEY SWITCH. THIS COULD RESULT IN AN ENGINE FIRE AND/OR LOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL. CORRECTION: FUEL INJECTION PUMP WILL BE REPLACED ON AFFECTED VEHICLES.

Transport Canada recorded this notice in capitals, as its system did for many years. It is reproduced here exactly as published.

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 1993027.
