On certain trucks, the parking brake cable and automatic transmission shifter cable may have been routed incorrectly during vehicle assembly. This could cause chaffing, and eventual failure of the parking brake cable. Parking brake cable failure could allow the truck to roll away while parked, which could result in a crash. Correction: Dealers will inspect and, if required, re-route or replace the parking brake cable.
The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2006336.
