On certain trailer-mounted aerial lifting devices (to elevate personnel in order to facilitate working on overhead service lines, for tree trimming, etc.), cracks may form on the extendable boom section, which could increase the risk of failure due to metal fatigue. This could allow the aerial device to move unexpectedly or fall, which could result in injury and/or property damage. Correction: Owners will be supplied with a replacement boom section, as well as installation instructions.
The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2014131.
