Transport Canada carries this recall as 2022178, dated 12 April 2022. The American register carries the same defect as campaign 22V213, dated 31 March 2022. They are the same defect because the manufacturer filed both under one internal campaign code, SN710.

The two registers are 12 days apart: the American entry is dated first, the Canadian one second.

These are the dates each register records against its own notice. They are separate administrative acts in two countries, recorded by two authorities under two sets of rules, and this page does not claim that one caused the other or that owners in either country were contacted on those days. What it shows is that the same manufacturer campaign reached the two registers on different dates.

Read the American notice 22V213, including every earlier version of its wording this site holds. The Canadian register explains why the manufacturer code is published there and what that makes possible. Canada and America sets every matched pair side by side.

Issue: rnCertain aerial devices may not have had all pivot points lubricated during assembly. This could cause the pivot pins to seize and the pin retainers to break. If this happens, the lower boom cylinder could disconnect from the turntable. rnrnSafety Risk: rnA lower boom cylinder that separates from the turntable could create a risk of injury. rnrnCorrective Actions: rnTerex will notify owners by mail and provide you with instructions for inspecting all pivot points. If the pivot pins are seized or the pin retaining components are damaged, you should not use the machine until the recall repairs have been completed. Terex will instruct you to lubricate the machine according to the maintenance manual and carry out the required routine maintenance.

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2022178.
