Certain child car seats may not comply with the requirements of the Canada Motor Vehicle Restraint Systems and Booster Seats Safety Regulations (RSSR). The Universal Anchorage System (UAS) markings cannot be seen when the UAS system is in the retracted or usual storage position. Correction: A production change has been undertaken to remedy these technical non-compliance conditions. No corrective recall action is required as the technical non-compliance conditions are deemed to be non-safety related.
The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2017599.
