Equipment Description: Peg Perego models Primo Viaggo infant car seat, infant car seat with base, Pliko Travel System (stroller bundled as a single product), Primo Viaggo System (stroller bundled as a single product). The bottom latch mechanism of the child seat on the left side does not completely engage the latching rod of the base that stays in the vehicle due to the improper positioning of the metal reinforcing bracket of the latch mechanism during manufacture. These seats fail to conform with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 213, "Child Restraint Systems." Correction: Peg Perego will notify its customers of the defect and provide instructions on how to identify affected seats and perform the repair. The consumer may believe that the car seat is properly attached to the base. In the event of a vehicle crash, the car seat can detach from the base possibly causing serious injury or death to the child. Peg Perego will notify its customers of the defec tand provide instructions on how to indentify affected seats and perform the repair.

Reading this against the source
This page is what Transport Canada published in the Vehicle Recalls Database, kept as it was read. The authority publishes only its current wording; if a notice is rewritten, the earlier version disappears there and is kept here. The whole register is at /canada, and how the reading is done is set out in the method.
What the words on this notice mean — the system it is filed under, and what the filing type says about who found the fault.
This register keeps an index of its own for every maker and every year it holds: Canadian recalls on a Peg Perego: 8 in the register, and 301 Canadian vehicle recalls filed in 2001.
