On certain trailers, a manufacturing process error could lead to the formation of cracks on the underside of the frame rail flange in a 1 metre zone just forward of the front suspension hanger. This could result in the frame rails failing, which could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will remove the galvanizing in the affected area, inspect for cracks, and reapply the coating. Frames found exhibiting cracking in the affected zone will be replaced. Note: This is an expansion of recall 2017-187 to include 53u2019 Flatdeck semiu2019s. The affected 53u2019 Flatdeck Semiu2019s have exhibited cracking in the region extending 1.5 metres towards the rear of the landing gear brace mount, 0.5 metres towards the front of the landing gear brace, and in a 1 metre zone just forward of the front suspension hanger.

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2018156.
