Issue: rnOn certain vehicles, the wiring for the steering wheel-mounted airbag could be damaged by sharp metal edges that may be present on the steering wheel core. This could disconnect the airbag, causing it not to work and turning on the airbag (SRS) warning light. This problem could also cause the airbag to deploy suddenly without a crash. rn rnSafety Risk: rnA driver-front airbag that does not deploy properly in a crash could increase the risk of injuries. A sudden airbag deployment when there is no crash could also create a risk of injury.rn rnCorrective Actions: rnHonda will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their vehicle to a dealer to replace the steering wheel wiring and install a protective cover over the steering wheel core.

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2019240.
