Canada — Transport Canada, Vehicle Recalls Database
On certain school buses, the bolts that attach the brake caliper support (also called a tie bar) on the front axle may not be tightened correctly. As a result, the tie bar could loosen or detach and cause damage to other moving parts. It is also possible that the tie bar was not installed. A missing or loose tie bar could affect braking performance. rnNote: This recall only affects buses equipped with hydraulic brakes. rnrnSafety Risk: rnReduced brake performance can increase the risk of a crash. rnrnCorrective Actions: rnDaimler Trucks North America (DTNA) will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your bus to a DTNA authorized service facility to inspect both steer axle wheel ends. The mounting bolts for the brake caliper tie bar will be tightened. If the tie bar is missing, the caliper anchor mounts and brake function will be inspected, and the missing tie bar installed.

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2020637.
