Issue: rnOn a small number of side-by-side UTV's, the positive cable for the auxiliary battery could be damaged by contact with the driveshaft. If this happens, the cable could short circuit. rnrnSafety Risk: rnA short circuit could create a fire risk. rnrnCorrective Actions: rnPolaris will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your UTV to a dealership to inspect and re-route the positive battery cable. If the cable is damaged, it will be replaced. To reduce the safety risk, Polaris recommends that you should not drive your UTV until the recall repairs have been completed.
The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2022165.
