Issue: rnOn certain vehicles, the inflator for the side curtain airbag could rupture at the inflator weld joint and cause the side curtain airbag to inflate without a crash. rnNote: This is an expansion of Transport Canada recall nos. 2023-520 and 2023-693. Certain vehicles that were repaired under those recalls, also require this repair. rnrnSafety Risk: rnA side curtain airbag that inflates without a crash could create a risk of injury. rnrnCorrective Actions: rnGeneral Motors will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the left and/or right-side curtain airbag(s).
