What the ministry says is wrong

高所作業車の緩衝装置において、設計時の可動範囲の想定が不十分なため、作業台(高所作業装置を載せた台)と後軸トルクロッドとの隙間余裕が少ないものがある。そのため、悪路走行等、緩衝装置が大きく可動した場合、作業台と後軸トルクロッド、トルクロッド周辺のホースクランプが接触するおそれがある。そのままの状態で使用を続けると、接触部に打痕等の損傷が生じるおそれがある。

What is to be done about it

全車両、スペーサを追加したバンプストッパに交換する。また、接触部が損傷している場合は修正する。

The two passages above are quoted in Japanese because that is the language the ministry published them in. This site keeps the wording a register had when it was read, and does not translate a safety notice.

This site gathered the record, grouped it by notification number and set it in English around the ministry's own words; the notice itself is unaltered. The Japanese register on this site

日野 elsewhere in this register

日野 is named on 649 notices in the copy of MLIT’s register held here, of which these are the nearest to this one in time.

The same part: 緩衝アーム/ロッド

176 notices in this register name 緩衝アーム/ロッド. A defect that keeps returning under one heading is worth reading as a group rather than one notice at a time.

Reading this against the source

This page is what MLIT published in the recall notices it publishes, kept as it was read. The authority publishes only its current wording; if a notice is rewritten, the earlier version disappears there and is kept here. The whole register is at /japan, and how the reading is done is set out in the method.

This register keeps an index of its own for every maker and every year it holds: Japanese recalls on a Hino: 659 in the register, and 398 Japanese vehicle recall notifications filed in 2023.
