What the ministry says is wrong

インバーターの電源ケーブルにおいて、設計検討が不十分なため、高電圧バッテリーケーブルがホルダーの近傍にレイアウトされ、ケーブルがホルダーに挟まれているものがある。そのため、走行振動等でケーブルとホルダーが干渉してケーブルが損傷して運転者へ警告が表示され、最悪の場合、ケーブルが断線して走行不能となるおそれがある。

What is to be done about it

全車両、インバーターの電源配線の取り回し状態を確認し、必要に応じて取り回しを修正する。また、配線の損傷が認められた場合は、修理する。

The two passages above are quoted in Japanese because that is the language the ministry published them in. This site keeps the wording a register had when it was read, and does not translate a safety notice.

This site gathered the record, grouped it by notification number and set it in English around the ministry's own words; the notice itself is unaltered. CarsMultiverse is not the ministry and not a safety authority. To act on this notice, use the ministry's own document.

BMW elsewhere in this register

BMW is named on 1 notices in the copy of MLIT’s register held here.

The same part: 配線

454 notices in this register name 配線. A defect that keeps returning under one heading is worth reading as a group rather than one notice at a time.

Reading this against the source

This page is what MLIT published in the recall notices it publishes, kept as it was read. The authority publishes only its current wording; if a notice is rewritten, the earlier version disappears there and is kept here. The whole register is at /japan, and how the reading is done is set out in the method.

This register keeps an index of its own for every maker and every year it holds: Japanese recalls on a BMW: 409 in the register, and 380 Japanese vehicle recall notifications filed in 2025.
