Mazda CX-5 in the other registers
This site holds seven national and European registers. Mazda CX-5 is named on 13 American notices, 8 British, 7 European and 15 Japanese. Those are separate campaigns, filed with separate authorities on their own schedules.
The American register
The British register
- DVSA recall R/2017/163: Mazda MAZDA6, CX-3, CX-5 and 3 more (Tailgate may drop down without warning)
- DVSA recall R/2018/236: Mazda CX-5, MAZDA6 and MAZDA3 (Vacuum pump may wear prematurely)
- DVSA recall R/2018/288: Mazda MAZDA6, CX-5 and MAZDA3 (Fuel injector software does not control the electric current correctly)
The European register
The Japanese register
Nothing here says any of these is this notice in another country. A model recalled in one country is often recalled in another, in different words and at a different time, and the authorities do not cross-reference each other. Reading them together is the reason this site holds more than one register.

Issue:
On certain vehicles equipped with LED daytime running lights (DRLs), the wrong material was used for the gasket that seals the wiring connector. As a result, the gasket material could cause corrosion of the circuit board. This could cause one or both of the DRLs to flicker and/or fail.Safety Risk:
Daytime running lights that do not work could make the vehicle less visible to others and increase the risk of a crash.Corrective Actions:
Mazda Canada will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer for an inspection. Dealers will replace the sealing gasket and add an anti-corrosion material inside the headlights, as necessary. Dealers may also replace the headlight units if they have failed due to this problem.
The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2020040.

Reading this against the source
This page is what Transport Canada published in the Vehicle Recalls Database, kept as it was read. The authority publishes only its current wording; if a notice is rewritten, the earlier version disappears there and is kept here. The whole register is at /canada, and how the reading is done is set out in the method.
What the words on this notice mean — the system it is filed under, and what the filing type says about who found the fault.
This notice names one vehicle among several registers that have written about it. Every notice this site holds for the Mazda CX-5, in all seven, is kept on that vehicle's own page, with the newest in each.
This register keeps an index of its own for every maker and every year it holds: Canadian recalls on a Mazda: 204 in the register, and 536 Canadian vehicle recalls filed in 2020.
