Issue: rnOn certain vehicles, the jam nut for the steering stopper bolt on the left-front knuckle may loosen and allow the bolt to back away from the knuckle. This could result in an increase in the turning radius of the vehicle in left turns. A change in turning radius could make it difficult to make sharp turns. rnNote: This recall replaces V1902 (Transport Canada recall 2019-306). Vehicles that were repaired under that recall also require this repair. rnrnSafety Risk: rnIf a vehicle's turning radius is increased, there could be an increased risk of a crash. rnrnCorrective Actions: rnThe company will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to replace the jam nuts on the steering stopper bolts with new Spiralock nuts. The bolts and extensions will also be cleaned and/or replaced, as necessary.
The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2021679.
