Issue: rnOn certain vehicles, the recall repairs completed by a Mercedes-Benz dealer during recall 5491309 (Transport Canada recall no. 2022-397) may not have been done correctly. As a result, a second repair is required.rnrnOn certain vehicles equipped with 4-wheel drive (4Matic), the transmission wiring harness may not be routed correctly. As a result, water could enter the wiring harness connector and cause a short circuit. Note: This recall replaces Transport Canada recall no. 2022-397. rnrnSafety Risk: rnA short circuit can create the risk of a fire, even while the vehicle is parked and turned off. rnrnCorrective Actions: rnMercedes-Benz will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the transmission wiring harness.
