On certain child seats, an incorrect seat pad was inadvertently installed during the assembly process. The pad lacks slow-recovery energy-absorbing material and the French-language airbag warnings, which are required by Canadian regulations. Insufficient energy-absorbing material and improper use of the child seat (as a result of failure to follow important safety warnings) could increase the risk of personal injury during a vehicle crash. Correction: Consumers are advised to call Dorel at 1-800-544-1108 to request a repair kit, which consists of a replacement seat pad and instructions for proper installation.

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2012072.
