Issue: rnOn certain motorcycles, the return spring inside the front brake master cylinder is not strong enough. As a result, the brake piston may not return to its original position when you release the brake lever. If this happens, the brake lever may move a long distance before the brakes apply and there could be reduced braking. rnrnSafety Risk: rnReduced braking can cause extended stopping distances and increase the risk of a crash. rnrnCorrective Actions: rnKTM will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your motorcycle to a dealer to replace the front brake master cylinder piston return spring.

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2021256.
