What the ministry says is wrong

 ホイールベースが2,180mmの車両において、動力伝達装置の構造が不適切なため 、最高車速域においてプロペラシャフトが異常振動を起こし、最悪の場合、当該プロペラ シャフトが折損して走行不能に至る恐れがある。

What is to be done about it

 暫定措置として、全車両、当該プロペラシャフトを新品と交換するとともに、燃料噴射 ポンプを調整することにより、最高車速を抑える。 さらに、最高車速域における異常振動に対する措置が決まり次第、恒久的な措置を講ず る。

The two passages above are quoted in Japanese because that is the language the ministry published them in. This site keeps the wording a register had when it was read, and does not translate a safety notice.

This site gathered the record, grouped it by notification number and set it in English around the ministry's own words; the notice itself is unaltered. CarsMultiverse is not the ministry and not a safety authority. To act on this notice, use the ministry's own document.

マツダ elsewhere in this register

マツダ is named on 465 notices in the copy of MLIT’s register held here, of which these are the nearest to this one in time.

The same part: プロペラシャフト

101 notices in this register name プロペラシャフト. A defect that keeps returning under one heading is worth reading as a group rather than one notice at a time.

Reading this against the source

This page is what MLIT published in the recall notices it publishes, kept as it was read. The authority publishes only its current wording; if a notice is rewritten, the earlier version disappears there and is kept here. The whole register is at /japan, and how the reading is done is set out in the method.

This register keeps an index of its own for every maker and every year it holds: Japanese recalls on a Mazda: 471 in the register, and 56 Japanese vehicle recall notifications filed in 1995.
